B7 A4 2.0T Diverter Valve Removal/Installation
Hey Guys,
Customers accept asked us several times about how to replace the diverter valve. Since mine recently failed, I decided to do a quick write up on how to practice the install! Follow my Build Thread for more than information on the B7 A4 2.0T.
Replacing your Diverter Valve is easier than about people recollect, and below are the tools I used.
Tools needed to remove DV:
1x Socket Wrench
1x 2" Extension
1x 5mm Allen Socket
The showtime thing you are going to desire to do is remove your belly pan, once your car is upward in the air (whether it be Jack Stands or a Lift).
Removing the abdomen pan requires y'all to loosen the plastic screws and you lot can use a Apartment Head or Phillips Screwdriver to do and so.
Once the belly pan is off, y'all can run into the lesser of your turbo where your Diverter Valve is located. Have the harness and unplug it.
Once the harness has been unplugged, remove the iii 5mm Allen Bolts from the DV.
At present, pull the DV out of the turbo (should come up straight out).
Put the new Updated Diverter Valve into the turbo and tighten the 5mm Allens support and torque them to about 8ft-lbs and plug the harness dorsum in.
Now put the abdomen pan dorsum on and you are done!
Here is a side by side shot of my torn Diverter Valve next to my new Updated OEM Diverter Valve. Equally you can see, the design totally changed removing the failure prone diaphragm with a upgraded piston way valve.
For those of y'all who are experiencing a loss of power/heave, y'all may need to change your DV! We offer the new updated 1 on our website for $54.95!
Click Hither for more information!
Allow me know if you have any questions!

I did the R&R on the Diverter valve over the weekend. This guide was helpful.
The one affair I would suggest is y'all apply a 1/4" drive socket to practise the job, the 3/viii" drive makes information technology harder to clasp through the pocket-sized opening between pipes and things. Other than that, it was pretty direct forward.

Ok... I merely did this chore... two 1/ii hours... I am soooo mad...
I had my front end terminate on ramps and was working the usual mode I do. My head towards the dorsum, and my torso and anxiety in front of the car. After nigh two hours and merely removing ane bolt I got the idea to turn effectually with my anxiety towards the back. Basically I slid under the machine from the front feet first.... THIS Made ALL THE Divergence. Using the tools listed above AND FACING THE Right Manner, the job is MUCH easier... Because the bolts back out towards the radiator, it makes it soooo much easier to be facing the bolts, instead of working away from your face. I wish I had known this, so, hopefully it volition help someone else...

Hey Jake you lot probably accept midget hands! Anyone having trouble I experience ya!
It'south easier if you go with the 1/4" wrench / extension / socket you lot will have much more room to become the extension to fit in the area. Get to the parts store and pick them upwards. Option up an extra extension for the future also.

Definitely not very like shooting fish in a barrel but not hard either, if I had a 1/4" #5 or better all the same a long 1/4" #5 my manus would take fit in amend. The superlative bolt is not hard to locate and they are not tight. Y'all need to hold the bottom of the new valve with a long screwdriver or pry bar so that you can thread 1 bolt in to concur it from falling out. I wish I knew how old the revision D was before I started. The dealer changed mine nether warranty many years ago so I was sure it had an older version, when I removed information technology I was surprised to see it was a D. I thought that was a fairly new version, well at present I take a new i....and a good former one. Bought it on Amazon for $50., https://world wide web.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Same OEM supplier, under the sticker is the Audi part #. While you're downwards in that location you can change the oil and find several other problems you never knew you had, I have a trans leak (I think) a leaky motor mount, embrace screws screws missing and the lower rt/front safety shield was twisted up in the wrong direction, the 3 sections below the grille were filled with leaves and garbage. Now back to trying to solve my elusive 04555 fault code problem and broken exhaust.
